Bridging to all things…

There is talk about bridging the gap (or chasm as it were):
the generation gap
the cultural gap
the financial gap (between the haves and "have nots")
the gap between people, cultures, beliefs, ideas…
the gap between governments, nationalities, continents and religions…

But what is this gap?

A belief in separation perhaps?
A perception of "this and the that"?
A trusting of our eyes and our outward senses?

We say, "There is a gap… I can see it!"

But how much does that make it so?
Are these gaps really just the feedback of a narrowly focused mind,
or the senses that are attuned to myriad points of distinction?

Oh yes, in the world of the relative…
there are many gaps in our perceptions and in our experience!

Gaps between:
hot and cold,
yours and mine,
here and there,
high and low,
love and hate,
hunger and satisfaction,
affluence and poverty.

But what is beneath these gaps?
What is the thing that makes these gaps possible at all?

In truth is there really any gap at all?

Is there not actually a underlying structure or matrix of creation that binds these gaps together?

For surely if there were no unifying element then these apparent opposites would simply cease to be.

So left with this paradox of perception, how are we to proceed?

For the stage is set…
the curtain is up…
and the actors are playing their roles.

Perhaps choosing our course and setting our sail is all we can really do.
